The goal of Lose for Good is simple: To help make the world a healthier place. For every pound of weight lost with Weight Watchers between 9/7/08 and 10/18/08, Weight Watchers will donate the equivalent of one pound of food, up to one

million dollars*, to one of two organizations: Share Our Strength, the leading organization working to make sure no kid in America grows up hungry, and Action Against Hunger, which brings immediate and long-term solutions for hunger to populations around the world. Find out more by visiting a Weight Watchers meeting or go to Lose for Good on our website.

Hopefully, I can lose quite a few pounds myself and help out a good cause at the same time.

I was very excited about weighing in this week, because I thought I had lost quite a few pounds or at least 1 or 2.  I was a little  a whole lot of disappointed to find out that I hadn’t lost 1 pound.  I guess I should look on the bright side in that I didn’t gain any weight.  I guess next week will be better, but it’s sort of discouraging right now.  After I get everything all settled for our German exchange student coming at the beginning of August, I can start back up walking at the track again.

I am actually very excited about going to this week’s meeting.  I’ve started to feel my clothes getting looser in the past couple of days.  Hopefully next week I’ll be able to add exercise back into my daily routine, right now my days are filled with getting ready for our German foreign exchange student coming at the beginning of August.

I found this list on another blog and thought I’d share. Some of the things had never crossed my mind,

Just returned back from this week’s Weight Watchers meeting and have lost 5.4 pounds this week.  I am very excited about this cause of course this means changing my daily flex points total.  I know I won’t have numbers like this every week, but it’s really cool to have it announced in front of everyone and to have the highest number of anyone at the meeting tonight.  I also know that after a couple of weeks I’ll have to be satisfied with numbers like -1.3 or -.8 pounds, but that’s ok as long as the big overall number is going down.  I have a long way to go to reach my ultimate goal, so for right now I’ll concentrate on my 10 % goal and I’ve got a good jumpstart on that number.

Today was a bit of a tough day.  Herman (my husband ) called this morning and wanted to go to Pizza Hut for lunch.  In the past this was not a problem, we just got the lunch buffet.  I never used to eat that much to begin with.  I looked up Pizza Hut on weight watchers and I just couldn’t see using 3 points to be able to eat 1 breadstick.  Each slice of pizza was gonna set me back between 7 and 9 points each.  I had to do a little research, but in the end I discovered that I could order the Veggie Lover’s personal pan and if I ate the whole thing it was 12 points.  I also figured this left less to temptation.

Our usual waitress was a little surprised when I told her I was ordering off the menu and that I wanted an unsweet tea instead of sweet tea.  I ended up not eating it all and having the second half with dinner.  I can’t wait to go to my meeting tomorrow for weigh in.  I am looking forward to seeing how my hard work has paid off.

I have not had a Coca-cola ( the real thing ) since Wednesday of last week.  I have somehow managed to suffer through that.  I quit cold turkey the day before my first meeting.

I have also decided that the number of points that the flex plan gives you is far too many.  I have only gotten to my daily point limit once so far.  I don’t think I’ll really have to use the 35 weekly extra points, except maybe for a birthday or something.

I guess I’ve been eating more vegetables than I normally might and they cost like NO points.  Also drinking water with things like Crystal Light and Sugar-free Hawaiian Punch added to make it tolerable.  I guess that’s how you actually eat food and still stay within the point limit.
